Paulina’s Bio

Hi! I’m Paulina — a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and proud Indiana University grad with a Master’s in Social Work. I’m also a two-time heart transplant recipient, and my own journey has inspired my passion for transplant advocacy and mental health.

I currently serve with Project Hope’s Mental Health Department, where I help develop training and resources that support peer mentors and mentees throughout their transplant journey. Our focus is on emotional well-being, communication, and resilience — making sure everyone feels heard, supported, and empowered as they navigate life before and after transplant.

As a bilingual Mexican-American, I’m dedicated to promoting inclusive and culturally sensitive spaces within the transplant community so every voice feels valued and understood.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me drawing, painting, playing video games, staying active, or spending time with my dog Obi! I love anything that keeps me creative, connected, and passionate about life.
